Professional Year

The Professional Year is a structured professional development program combining formal learning and workplace experience. A Professional Year program runs for 44 weeks and will:

  • Familiarise participants with the norms and values in the Australian workplaces as well as the Australian employment market and workplace culture
  • Teach participants how to communicate effectively and professionally in the Australian workplace with colleagues, managers and clients
  • Include an internship (12 weeks work experience) to educate participants about all aspects of work practices in an Australian company.

Completion of a recognised Professional Year will provide that person bonus points under the General Skilled Migration points test. Points can only be awarded for Professional Year courses that have been specified by the minister.

 

Navitas

Navitas understand the impact of the new points system on its participants and has responded by ensuring that their Professional Year is enhanced to assist them in getting the most from its program. The'rey aim is to assist and prepare you for your professional life and to achieve permanent residency.

The Navitas Professional Year gives graduates eligibility for migration points as well as including and IELTS preparation class plus one free IELTS test as part of the program fees. It also provides participants assistance with job seeking from the beginning of the program, adding to your CV your 12 week internship and gives access to NavitasCV to make applying for jobs much easier using a quality resume.
